Do you have a love for advertising, creative writing, and above all, storytelling? Want to go beyond the classroom and learn by doing? The Engine is Red, an integrated creative agency, is looking for a writing intern with the right amount of wit and intelligence, and just a bit of attitude. You’ll get a chance to work side-by-side with experienced creatives as you help craft brands, launch campaigns, and build interactive web experiences.

The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for the written word, knowledge about the business world, and the ability to work well within a team. The duties of this role may include campaign support, web and collateral content, blog and social media coordination, assisting in project coordination, proofreading, research, and other duties as they arise.

Be prepared to put in at least 15 hours per week on-site, but don't fret: we will compensate you in currency, not just experience, kitten videos, and a resume boost. You must have at least two years undergraduate education under your belt along with great writing samples and references.

  • Ability to work 15-18 hours per week in our studio
  • Natural work ethic and self-fueled drive
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student status, or equivalent
  • Exceptional writing talent
  • Proven problem-solving and self-management skills
  • Interest in research, learning, and strategy
  • Great attitude, sense of humor, and collaborative spirit

Hours / Compensation-

In addition, we respect our interns and the work they produce for us and pay as such: offering $15/hour compensation for our part-time summer interns.

Position may be eligible for permanent and/or full-time growth opportunities, depending on candidate and company performance. This position is ideal for students currently enrolled and studying areas like journalism, communications, business administration, or writing.
