Freelance Craft CMS Developer
The Engine are entering a busy season, and we're looking for a freelance Craft CMS developer to help us out on several projects over the next few months.
We'd love to hear from mid-weight developers who have built multiple Craft sites and are used to working with agencies. We're not hiring for a specific project right now, but we want to have good people on the books we can call on when we're ready to dive in.
What can you expect from us?
We like to involve our freelancers as early as possible in the process. Typically that will involve talking through the project brief and having you help with the estimate, but sometimes involves bringing you in during the design phase. Once we've got an estimate approved from the client, that's the budget for the project unless the scope changes.
We'll book you for a set number of days per week on the project, and try to give at least 2 weeks notice if the project schedule changes.
We plan our projects in phases. Discovery, Concepting, Refinement, Development, QA & Launch. Typically we'll involve you during the refinement phase to help point out anything we need to be aware of on the designs that could be complicated to build. We also staff a designer during development to support collaborative conversations around the build and how it relates to the original designs.
We do fixed cost estimates with our developers in advance, and pay up to $650/day.

- Working with the design and development leads to make sure the site is meeting our expectations
- Making sure the site is compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA standards

Requirements
- At least 4 years working with Craft CMS
- Knowledge of GitHub & version control
- Working with Project Config & Composer
- Ability to translate designs into responsive, well written markup that's easy to maintain
- Ability to fit in with our development guidelines and to work with other developers on the project.
- Must be located in the US
- Fluent English
- Excellent communication skills
- You'll need to be available at least once a week for a catch up Zoom call in the morning (PST), as well as being available daily on Slack throughout a project
