Freelance Remote

We're planning ahead and looking for a freelance WordPress developer to add to our "list of good people". While we're not looking to hire for a specific project, we regularly have updates to make to existing client projects, or new builds; and we'd love to be able to reach out to you when the need arises.

We'd love to hear from developers who have built multiple WordPress sites, both from scratch and digging into existing code. On most projects, you'll be working with our creative team during initial concepting to help scope, budget and provide developer feedback on the designs, then building sites in line with our development guidelines alongside our lead developer.

You'll need to be available at least twice a week for meetings in the morning (PST), as well as being available daily on Slack. You'll be working with a team of people based in California, Minnesota, Texas & Finland.

What we're looking for

  • At least 4 years working with WordPress
  • Intimate knowledge of how to build sites from scratch, hand coded, without page builders
  • Decent knowledge of popular page builders such as Elementor
  • Knowlege of and ability to create WCAG 2.1 (AA) compliant websites
  • The ability to code sites to be performant including caching, image transforms, lazy loading etc
  • Ability to translate designs into responsive, well written markup

  • Your own website with a portfolio
  • A webcam, with video on for Zoom calls
  • Located in the United States or western Europe
  • Fluent English

We work with our freelance developers to create budgets and scopes in advance. We do fixed cost estimates, and pay up to $650/day.

We're interested in talking to freelancers only - no agencies or recruiters please.
